The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
A robot vacuum/mop combination is the best solution for pets who shed fur. This machine can vacuum and mop and even clean and dry its own dual mop pads.
It also has 8,000Pa suction, the most of any robot we’ve tested. It can also set up cleaning schedules and save maps of your home using its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is dry and wet. It comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system uses dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space up to 32 feet across by 360 degrees. This means more precise mapping, faster response time, and better cleaning accuracy.
It also comes with a rotating mopping pad constructed of chenille fabric. This makes it easier to scrub tough areas more effectively than traditional mop. In my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in less than a second and got to work. I noticed that it was more precise than other models which seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It was able to navigate around corners and edges of my rooms, as well as make “Zambani patterns” across the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station regularly to empty the dustbin and clean the mop using hot water before beginning another cleaning task.
The X2 Omni is as simple to use and set up as other Ecovacs products. Snap the dock into position, plug it in and connect it to your WiFi network at home. It takes only some minutes. Then, you can launch the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to modify my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping and rearranging the layout of furniture that is mounted on walls and much more. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored well in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal. It also had near-perfect results for edge and crevices cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
If you’re looking for a strong combination of vacuuming and mopping look into the ECOVACS Deebot T10 Omni. It is the most advanced of the T-line from the company and comes with the brand new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system, which utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than the traditional scrubbers. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing tech that allows it to respond to a range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to plan your home, make cleaning schedules, and alter settings.
The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it’s unable to switch between vacuuming and mopping in a single run. Both modes require that you attach and remove the mop heads according to the need, which is fine for most homes but not an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles.
However, the Deebot Omni is a fantastic robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our tests on pet hair. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the particles we threw at it on our hardwood floors and floors, which is a remarkable performance. It was a success on tiles and carpets, removing 99percent of dirt.
This robot mop and vacuum comes with a large docking station that offers cool water cleaning for its mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L plastic bag that’s simple to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large tank of water that allows it to be washed and dried more often between mopping sessions.
The Deebot T10 features a wash tray that is built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to wash and dry its mop pads when it is using them. However, it doesn’t come with an open tray, which means dirty water, dust and other grime slowly builds up in the bottom of the tray over time.
3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid
This is the first model of mopping from Anker that is renowned for its robot vacuums. It has enhanced intelligence, multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the type of surface you’re cleaning. It’s a mid-range cleaner that’s appealing even if its claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn’t quite be realized.
The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular form, sweeping wheels, and an elevated sensor area. Turn it upside down, however you’ll see a motorised floor brush plus a single side sweeper which pushes dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot’s ‘mouth’. It’s a little smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under sofas and chairs.
Its mapping system allows you to define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. It has a tendency of bumping into things such as its charging station, and isn’t great at navigating over carpets. It was capable of picking up pet hair on floors that were not paved, though, and in our tests, it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of cat litter, which puts it ahead of all but the most powerful robots we’ve tested.
Although it’s controlled through the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base that allow you to select a cleaning mode and turn the robot on/off. These buttons can be used to set up areas that aren’t allowed to enter and access real-time maps. It’s also a bit chatty and will tell what it’s going to do next (start cleaning) or notify you if something is wrong.
4. ILIFE A4s
This advanced model collects pet hair, kibble and other particles with top-quality performance and is able to effortlessly maneuver around furniture legs. It has a feature set that is impressive, which includes two cleaning modes as well as an automatic docking station and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. The Wi-Fi enabled device is controlled via the Neato App which schedules cleanings and maintenance needs are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for homes that have a a mix of hard carpet and floors, but it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck by power cords, toys or other obstacles that might be unexpected.
In our test of hardwood floors and kibble the robot performed very well and was able to take everything from one grain of rice up to many pieces of dog food in just one sweep. It had some difficulties transitioning to rugs however, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms with flooring of all kinds and a variety of pets.
The A4s Pro is a bit expensive but it’s an excellent buy for people who want to be able to leave the house hands-free so they can take on other tasks or do chores. The A4s Pro also offers a useful auto cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to handle difficult spills and dirt, and is equipped with batteries that power the ElectroWall that allows you to define boundaries where the robot isn’t permitted to access.
This budget-friendly model from a well-known new brand is the cheapest we’ve ever tested, and provides exceptional value for money. The basic navigation system employs a super-basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, which makes it less efficient than other models on this list. However, it’s still able to get under furniture and into corners and its mopping feature was very effective during our tests and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris effortlessly.
5. Shark iQ
Shark’s iQ might not be as sturdy however it is superior in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less thoroughly and does a fair job on low-pile carpet and also utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide greater maneuverability. It can be positioned to a specific location, and comes with a range of Roborock S7 Max Ultra: Advanced Robot Vacuum Cleaner automation features, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you pause and resume the cleaning process which is ideal for homes with pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll prevents tangles with pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying dock station can store up to 30 days worth of dirt before needing to be cleaned. It also has a set of side brushes that are angled to go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander and allergens for a cleaner air.
This vacuum feels solid and well-built. It works with a smartphone app which lets you alter the settings for your vacuum and plan cleaning sessions in advance. The app also lets you view the iQ’s remaining battery life and also receive push notifications for any problems it encounters during a cleaning process. You can control it using your voice with an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don’t own either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary markers strips.
The iQ does a good job of cleaning floors and does a decent job on shaggy and low-pile carpet however it lacks the same degree of autonomy as our top picks. It’s also costly and the cost of recurring use can add up.
