The best robot vacuum and mop pet hair Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
For pets with shedding fur A robot vacuum/mop combination is among the best robot vacuum for pet hair floor cleaning options. It can mop and vacuum, and can even dry and clean its own mop pads.
It also has the greatest suction power of any robot we have tested, with 8000Pa. It also allows you to set up cleaning schedules and save maps of your house through its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is wet-dry is fitted with Ecovacs’ upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system, which offers improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to the one used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan an area that is up to 32 feet by the 270-degree angle. That translates into more precise mapping, quicker response times, and higher cleaning accuracy.
It also has a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille. This makes it easier to scrub hard-to-clean spots than traditional mops. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over one minute to wash its pad and get to work. I also noticed that it was more precise than the previous models, which seemed to follow a grid route around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms with its corners and edges and also create a “Zambani pattern” that ran up and down the center of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.
Like other Ecovacs products the X2 Omni is easy to set up and start using. Simply snap the dock into place, plug it in and connect it to your home WiFi network. It takes only about a minute. Then, you can launch the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to dig into the settings and personalize my floor plan in about 15 minutes, incorporating restricted areas to sweep and mop as well as reworking my wall-mounted furniture placements, and more. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal, and achieved near-perfect results in edge and crevices cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
The ECOVACS T10 Omni is a powerful mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most advanced of the T-line offered by the company and features the OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system, which utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than traditional scrubbing. It has YIKO, which is a natural language processing system that is the first of its kind. This allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. You can make use of the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules, and adjust settings.
The main flaw of the T10 Omni is that it’s unable to switch between vacuuming and mopping in a single operation. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach and remove mop heads depending on your requirements. This is fine for the majority of households, but not for those who lead busy lives.
The Deebot T10 is a great robot vacuum that delivers impressive results. It was able to remove more than 96% of the dust we tossed at it our hardwood flooring and floors, which is a remarkable performance. It also did an excellent job on carpet and tile cleaning up more than 99percent of dirt and other debris.
This robot mop and vacuum comes with a large docking station that offers cool water cleaning for the mop pads, auto-emptying into a 3L plastic bag that’s simple to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.
The Deebot T10 comes with a wash tray that is built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to rinse and dry its mop pads while using them. But it doesn’t use an open tray, which means dirty water, dust and other grime slowly accumulates in the bottom of the tray over time.
3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid
While the Anker-owned Eufy is well known in the robot vacuum space, this model is its first venture into the world of mopping. It has improved smarts, multiple map support and LIDAR scanning, along with twin turbine suction technology that adjusts to the floor you’re cleaning. It’s a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner although it can’t quite deliver on its promise of being a one-stop shop for floor cleaning.
The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape, sweeping wheels and a raised area for sensors. Flip it over, however you’ll see an electric floor brush and one side sweeper brush that carries dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot’s mouth. It’s a little smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.
Its mapping system is reasonably sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones as well as specific cleaning zones. However it is prone to bump into things (including its charging dock) and isn’t always great at climbing over carpets. It was capable of picking up pet hair on floors that were not paved however, and in our tests, it picked up 89.5 percent of cat litter, which is higher than any of the most powerful robots we’ve examined.
The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has a set of physical buttons at its base. These buttons allow you to select a cleaning mode or turn off the robot. You can also use these to set no-go zones and view real-time maps. It’s also a bit chatty and will let you know what it’s planning to do next (start cleaning) or alert you if something isn’t working.
4. ILIFE A4s
This high-tech model sucks up pet hair, kibble, and other messes with remarkable performance and is able to effortlessly maneuver around furniture legs. It comes with a set of features that is impressive, including two cleaning modes, an automatic docking station, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It’s Wi-Fi enabled and best controlled via the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and the overall maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for homes that have a a mix of hard floors and carpet, but it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck on toys, power cords or other obstacles that might be unexpected.
This robot did well in our tests of hardwood floors and kibble. It was able to pick up everything from one rice grain to multiple dog food pieces, with only one sweep. It had a bit of difficulties transitioning to rugs but in general this vacuum cleaner is great for large rooms with both types of flooring and a variety of pets.
It is a bit pricey but if you’re able to afford it, it’s a great purchase for those who wish to leave their home free to do other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to get rid of tough dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to define the boundaries of the robot.
This budget-friendly robot from a renowned new brand is the cheapest we’ve ever tested and offers an outstanding value for money. Its basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm and it’s not equipped to map rooms. This renders it less efficient as other models on this list. However it’s still able to get under furniture and into corners and its mopping mode performed well during our tests and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris with ease.
5. Shark iQ
Shark’s iQ isn’t as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles and bare floors. It also utilizes intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve maneuverability. It can be positioned to a particular area and includes a variety of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you stop and restart the cleaning process which is ideal for homes with pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent tangles with pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying bagless dock station can store up to 30 days of dirt before needing to be cleaned. It also has a set of side brushes that are angled to dig deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system can capture dust, dander, and allergens for a cleaner air.
The robot vacuum feels sturdy and well-built, and it comes with an app for smartphones that lets you change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app lets you view the remaining battery life and receive notifications via push for any issues it encounters during its cleaning session. You can control it using your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don’t own either of these devices you can mark out areas with physical boundary markers strips.
The iQ does a decent job of cleaning flooring and doing a good job on low-pile and shaggy carpet, but it doesn’t have the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It’s also expensive and the cost of recurring use can increase.
