The dust bag is expected to last for around 30 loads or a month and a half. It’s recommended to replace the filter every few months (as recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very loud when it’s in use, making it a good option for families with children or pets.

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is a complete vacuum and mopping machine making it a great choice for those in a flat with multiple floors. Dual motors provide it with impressive cleaning power, and the vacuum’s 0.6l dustbin can store plenty of pet hair. The dustbin can be taken away and emptied with ease, which is useful because you’ll need to do it regularly.
It’s easy to set up and I would recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid before running it for the first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the instructions to connect it to your WiFi network. After you’ve completed this the app will assist you create a precise map of your home. You can name the rooms, break rooms into sub-rooms in order to make it easier for open-plan living and help direct the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas that need to be cleaned at a specific time. There are many other robots that have similar scanning and mapping functions, but Eufy’s application feels more refined and intuitive than the other.

The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums has some issues with flooring that is not clean. It can be unable to see pet hair or small items, and it tends to hit objects – like its own charger that sits on its charging base. It’s not as quiet, and the whirring sound can be distracting like other models.
Roborock V3S Pro
The robot doesn’t come with the same number of features as the more expensive models we tested, however it does provide the essentials. It has a large dust bin that can hold a large amount of dirt before needing to be cleaned. The vacuum and mop system is ideal for carpets and hard floors with low pile. It’s also extremely quiet. We were able to watch television while it was cleaning without feeling as though we were being bombarded with the sound.
Our testers were very impressed with how easy the machine was to use and set up. They also loved the ability to clean all the mess from their flooring. It also did a good job of picking up pet hair and messes on carpeting, though it was not as effective in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. The app was simple to use and intuitive. They could program the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to cut down on manual work. The only downside is that it doesn’t include any mapping technology or object avoidance, so you can’t send it to specific rooms or Best Robot Vacuum & Mop follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips are compatible).
Another model from iRobot’s affordable line which is the V3S Pro has some impressive features for the price. It was the top robot vacuum in our tests for mapping and avoiding obstacles. It’s also the best combo vacuum and mop robot budget choice for those who want a more intelligent, self-emptying robot vacuum that can take care of pet messes and hair on hardwood floors or low-pile carpeting. It’s also extremely quiet and has a large dust bin which can hold plenty of debris before it needs to be emptied.
The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choices lists of trusted sources who perform hands-on tests, but it was praised by Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They liked the ease with which it was setup and use, however they also noted that its battery life is short and it didn’t manage to stay clear of some of the most stubborn mess we’ve put it through.
