It also did a nice job of maneuvering between furniture and objects although it did struggle with stairs, and could accidentally hit things like bookcases.
The S9’s capability to automatically return to its base and empty its dust bin after it’s full was a great feature. It cut down on the necessity for manual maintenance. The dust bin is expected to last for around 30 loads or a month and half. It’s recommended to replace the filter periodically (as recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very noisy when it operates which makes it a great option for families with children or pets.
Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8
Robot vacuum cleaners are designed to do the work for you and can be used to clean carpet and hardwood floors. The best ones are controlled and monitored using an app on your smartphone, and some even have mopping tech for kitchen and bathroom floors. They’re an excellent solution for busy families, and are becoming more affordable than ever. However, if you want the latest features in your robotic cleaner, you’re going to be spending a little more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is an excellent option for those who live in multi-floored apartments. Its dual motors offer an impressive cleaning capacity and the 0.6l dust bin can hold a lot of pet hair. The dustbin can be easily removed and emptied which is great since you’ll have to do this on a regular basis.
It’s also easy to set up, although I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. Once you’ve done this the app will help you to create a detailed map of your home. A great feature on the X8 Hybrid is that you can start the mop or vacuum using your voice thanks to integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a nice feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It was very effective in our test house.
Like many robotic vacuums, the X8 Hybrid has some issues with bare floors. It may miss fur and other small objects, and can cause bumps to objects like its charger on the charging platform. It’s also not as quiet, and the whirring sound can be distracting like other models.
Roborock V3S pro
The robot doesn’t come with the same number of features as the more expensive ones we’ve tested, but it does have the basics covered. It has a big enough dust bin to hold plenty of dirt before it’s empty, and its mop and vacuum system is perfect for carpets with low pile and hard floors. It’s also super quiet and we could watch TV while it was cleaning without feeling like it was bombarding us with noise.
Our testers were impressed by how simple it was to install and use, and they were amazed by its ability to clean all the messes off their flooring. It even did a pretty good job at removing pet hair and other messes that get on carpeting, but it was less successful in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. The app was easy to use and user-friendly. They could schedule the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to cut down on manual work. It doesn’t feature the ability to avoid objects or map technology, so it isn’t able to be used to send specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundaries work).
Another model from the iRobot’s budget line that is the V3S Pro has some impressive features for the money. It was the top robot vacuum in our tests to avoid obstacles and map them. It’s also a great budget option for those who want an intelligent, self-emptying robotic vacuum that can take care of hair and pet messes on hardwood floors and low-pile carpeting. It’s also quiet and comes with a large dust bin that can hold plenty of debris before it’s time to empty it.
The V3S Pro did not make it into our top choices lists of trusted sources who test hands-on, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They liked how easy it was to install and use, but they also noted that its battery life is very short and it was unable to stay clear of some of the most difficult problems we’ve encountered.

The base is sturdy and robust with an integrated charging port for the battery. On top, you’ll find the dock for the clean water tank and water bins that are dirty. Under those, you’ll find an enclosure that houses the vacuum bag sealed.
After you’ve paired your device to the app, you’ll be able to see the map in 3D or 2D of your home. It will show the exact location where your robot is located and what area it’s cleaning. You can also set up virtual barriers to keep the robot out of certain areas, and make sure it’s only cleaning specific kinds of floors. It can also adjust its power settings based on the floor type being cleaned and choose the most efficient cleaning method.
The Q Revo is unlike many other robot vacuums due to the fact that it can raise both mop heads while vacuuming. This prevents carpet fibres from becoming stained. In fact, it’s the only vacuums on the market that can do this.

Its only drawback is that it does take some time to fill and empty the water tanks, both clean and dirty.
