Five People You Should Know In The Robot Vacuum Mop Pet Hair Industry

The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

A robot vacuum/mop set-up is the best solution for pets that shed fur. The machine can vacuum, mop and clean its own mop pad with dual mop pads.

It also has the highest suction power of any robot we have examined, with 8,000Pa. It also can save maps of your home and schedule cleaning schedules using its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet-dry model is equipped with Ecovacs’ new AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what you’d find in self-driving cars — and can scan an area of up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping as well as faster response time and greater cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping pad constructed of chenille fabric, which makes it easier to scrub tough areas as opposed to traditional mop. During my testing the X2 Omni took just over one minute to clean its pad before getting to work, and I noticed it was more precise than previous models that seemed to follow a grid path around rooms. It was able to navigate around corners and edges of my rooms, and also make “Zambani patterns” across the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the dust bin and clean the mop with hot water prior to starting another task of cleaning.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is easy to set up and start using. It takes just a few minutes to snap the dock into position, plug it in and connect to your Wi-Fi network at home. You can then open the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able dive into the settings and modify my floor plan in about 15 minutes, which included creating zones that are restricted for sweeping and mopping as well as reworking my wall-mounted furniture placements, and so on. The X2 Omni did a great job during my tests, scoring excellent scores for cleaning pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as close to perfect results in cleaning crevices and edges.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The EcoVACS T10 Omni is a powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most advanced of the T-line of the brand and comes with the brand’s new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brushes for better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing tech that allows it to respond to a range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App lets you map your house, create cleaning schedules and modify settings.

The main flaw of the T10 Omni is that it can’t switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single run. The two modes require you attach and take off the mop heads as needed, which is fine for most homes, but not suitable for people who have a busy schedule.

The Deebot T10 Omni is a fantastic robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our tests on pet hair. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the debris we tossed at it on our hardwood floors which is an impressive performance. It also did a fantastic job on carpet and tile, removing over 90% of dirt and dust.

This robot vacuum and mop has a large docking system that allows for automatic cleaning using cool water for the mop pads. It also features an auto-emptying 3L bag that is easy to replace and hot air drying for fast and simple maintenance. It also has a huge water tank that allows for more frequent rinses and dry between mopping runs.

The Deebot T10 comes with a wash tray built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to wash and dry its mop pads when it is using them. However, it doesn’t have an open tray, meaning that dirty water dust, dirt, and other grime gradually build up on the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While Anker’s Eufy is well-known in the world of robot vacuums, this model is its first venture into the world of mopping. It is equipped with upgraded intelligence with multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the floor you’re cleaning. It’s a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner although it can’t quite deliver on its promise of being the ultimate source for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with the sweeping wheels, as well as an elevated sensor. Flip it over, however you’ll see a motorised floor brush plus a single side sweeper brush that carries dirt from the edges into the main pathway of the robot’s mouth. It’s a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to fit under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system allows you to define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. It is prone to bumping into things like its charging station, and isn’t the best in climbing over carpets. It was capable of picking up Revolutionize Pet Hair Cleaning with Robot Vacuums hair on bare floors However, in our tests, it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of litter – a figure that is higher than all but the most powerful robots we’ve tested.

While it’s controllable via the app and the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base that allow you to select the cleaning mode and turn the robot on/off. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones and view real-time maps. It’s a bit chatty, too, and will tell you what it plans to do next (“start cleaning”) or even warn you that something’s not right (it doesn’t have enough power to charge, for example).

4. ILIFE A4s

This model of high-tech vacuum can remove pet hair, kibble and other messes with remarkable effectiveness. It also maneuvers perfectly around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. It’s Wi-Fi-connected and best controlled through the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and the overall maintenance needs be monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with a mix of hard carpet and flooring, however it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck by power cords, toys or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

In our tests of hardwood floors and kibble the Self-Charging Robot Vacuum: Ideal for Hard Floors performed very well and picked up everything from one grain of rice up to many pieces of dog food in one go. It had some difficulties transitioning to rugs however, this vacuum cleaner is ideal for large spaces with different flooring types and a variety of pets.

The A4s Pro is expensive but it’s an excellent purchase for those who want to to leave the house without hands so that they can do other things or do chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto-cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to handle difficult spills and dirt, and it comes with batteries that power the ElectroWall that lets you set boundaries that the robot isn’t permitted to be allowed to enter.

This budget-friendly model from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest robot we’ve tested yet and offers an outstanding value for cost. The basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm and it’s not able to map rooms. This renders it less efficient than the other models on this list. It’s still able get under furniture and into corners. And its mopping mode performed very well in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark’s iQ isn’t quite as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in getting rid of pet hair from all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles and bare floors. It also uses smart-pathing navigational software for greater maneuverability. It can be sent to a particular area and has a suite of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It lets you pause and resume cleaning sessions, making it perfect for homes that have pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent knots and holds up to 30 days of dirt. It has a set of side brushes that are angled to reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, dander and allergens.

This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It is compatible with an app on your smartphone that lets you change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning times ahead of time. The app allows you to see the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications in the event of any issues during the cleaning session. You can use your voice to control it with an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device or, if you don’t have either, you can mark off areas with physical boundary marker strips.

The iQ can do a decent job of removing bare floors and does a decent job on low-pile and shaggy carpet however, it doesn’t have the same degree of autonomy as our top selections. It is also expensive and its monthly costs can add up.
