Cultural Appropriation and Donkeys
The domestic donkey (Equus Africanus asinus) is a hoof mammal in the family of Equidae. Originating from Africa, the domestic donkey is derived from African wild ass. Depending on the species, the domestic donkey may be classified as a subspecies within the wild ass, 4Some or as a separate species.

Appropriateness in popular Culture
There are many instances in which the dominant culture takes elements of a minority’s culture. This practice, referred to as cultural appropriation, can lead to disrespect from members of minority groups. It doesn’t matter if you wear an Native American headdress at a music festival or wearing blackface for Halloween, a lot of Black people feel that this is an act of patronizing.
A dominant group may also incorporate elements of cultures that are minority. However, they could also take advantage of intellectual property belonging to the minority group. Blackfishing is just one instance. It is important to remember that people of the color of their skin have a history of being marginalized and disenfranchised. For example, when you see a person of color dressed in blackface for Halloween take into consideration the history of black people being excluded.
