The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
For pets with shedding fur A robot vacuum/mop set-up is among the best floor cleaning solutions. It can mop and vacuum, and can even dry and clean its own mop pads.
It also has 8,000Pa suction, the most of any robot we’ve evaluated. It can also organize cleaning schedules and save your house’s maps through its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is dry and wet. It includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to the one used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan an area up to 32 feet by 360 degrees. This means more precise mapping, faster response time, and greater cleaning accuracy.
It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille. This makes it much easier to scrub hard-to-clean areas than traditional mops. During my testing, the X2 Omni took just over one minute to clean its pad and get to work. I also noticed that it was more precise than previous models that seemed to follow a gridded route around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms’ corners and edges, as well as create an “Zambani pattern” that ran up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station regularly to empty the trash bin and wash the mop with hot water prior to starting another task of cleaning.
The X2 Omni is just as simple to use and set up as other Ecovacs products. It takes only a few minutes to put the dock in place, plug it in and connect to your home Wi-Fi network. You can then launch the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able to customize my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for mopping and sweeping as well as rearranging the positioning of wall-mounted furniture, and more. The X2 Omni did a great job during my tests, scoring outstanding scores in cleaning pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as near-perfect results for edge and crevice cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
The T10 Omni from ECOVACS is a Vactidy Nimble T6: Powerful Self-Charging Remote Control Robot mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most advanced model of the T-line of the brand and comes with a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that utilizes dual-spinning brushes to provide more effective cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a unique natural language processing technology that lets it respond to a range of voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, establish cleaning schedules, and alter settings.
The main flaw of the T10 Omni is that it cannot switch from mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The T10 Omni has two modes that require you to attach mop heads to and from the vacuum according to your needs. This is great for the majority of households, but not for those who lead busy lives.
The Deebot T10 is a great robot vacuum that delivers impressive results. It removed more than 96% debris from our hardwood floors. This is a fantastic performance. It did a great job on carpets and tiles, removing 99percent of dirt.
This robotic vacuum and mop has an enormous docking station that offers cool water cleaning for its mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L plastic bag that is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large tank of water that allows it to be washed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.
The Deebot T10 features a wash tray that is built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to rinse and dry its mop pads while using them. It does not have a removable tray so dirt, dust and other grime will slowly build up in the bottom.
3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid
This is the first mopping model from Anker which is well-known for its robot vacuums. It is equipped with upgraded intelligence, multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the surface you are cleaning. It’s a tempting mid-range robot vacuum cleaner however it doesn’t meet its promise to be an all-in-one solution for floor cleaning.
The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular shape with the sweeping wheels, as well as a raised sensor area. On the other hand there’s a motorized floorbrush and one side brush that pushes dust away from the edges and into the main artery of its’ mouth.’ It’s a little smaller than the main brushes on the competing iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.
Its mapping system lets you define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. However it tends to hit things (including its own charging dock) and isn’t the best at climbing over rugs. It was effective in picking up pet hair from the floor. In our tests it was able to pick up 89.5% kitty litter.
The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, however it also has a set of physical buttons at its base. These buttons let you choose a cleaning mode or turn off the robot. These buttons can be used to set up areas that aren’t allowed to enter and view real-time maps. It’s also a little chatty and will let you know what it’s planning to do next (start cleaning) or warn you when something isn’t right.
4. ILIFE A4s
This model is high-tech and sucks up pet hair, kibble, and other messes with remarkable performance and is able to effortlessly maneuver around furniture legs. It comes with a set of features that is impressive, which includes two cleaning modes and an automatic docking station, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. The device that is Wi-Fi-connected can be operated via the Neato App which schedules cleanings and maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with hardwood carpet and flooring, however it requires some advanced planning to avoid getting stuck on electrical cords, toys, or other unexpected obstacles.
In our tests of hardwood floors and kibble the robot performed very well and picked up everything from one grain of rice up to many pieces of dog food in just one go. It had some difficulties transitioning to rugs however, in general, this vacuum cleaner is ideal for large rooms with different flooring types and a variety of pets.
It’s a bit expensive, but if you can handle the cost this is a great option for those who want to be able to leave their homes free to do other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to get rid of the most difficult spills or dirt. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.
This budget-friendly model from a well-known new brand is the most affordable we’ve tested and provides exceptional value for money. The basic navigation system employs a super-basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn’t have room mapping capabilities, which makes it less time efficient than other models on this list. It’s still able to navigate under furniture and into corners. Mopping mode performed well in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.
5. Shark iQ
Shark’s iQ may not be as durable, but it is better in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning low-pile carpet and floors that are not covered. It also makes use of intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve maneuverability. It also lets you transfer it to a particular room, and its advanced set of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It also lets you pause and resume cleaning sessions, so it’s perfect for households with pets.
The self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent the tangles caused by Revolutionize Pet Hair Cleaning with Robot Vacuums hair and other debris, and its bagless self-emptying dock station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be empty. It comes with of angled side brushes that can reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system to capture dust, allergens and dander.
The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It has a smartphone application that lets you change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app also lets you see the iQ’s remaining battery life and also receive notifications via push for any issues it encounters during its cleaning session. You can also control it using your voice with an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don’t have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary markers strips.
The iQ is good at cleaning bare floors and does an adequate job with shaggy and low-pile carpets. However it’s not able to provide the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It’s also expensive, and its recurring costs can add up over time.
