The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
For pets with shedding fur A robot vacuum and mop pet hair vacuum/mop combination is among the best floor cleaning solutions. This machine can mop and vacuum, and even clean and dry its own dual mop pads.
It also has 8,000Pa suction which is the most of any robot we’ve tested. It can also organize cleaning schedules and save maps of your home through its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet/dry model includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. It uses dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind is used in self-driving cars — and can scan an area of up to 32 feet in 270 degrees. This translates to more precise mapping, faster response times, as well as better cleaning accuracy.
It also has a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it easier to scrub tough areas as opposed to traditional mopping. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to wash its pad and begin work, and I noticed that it was much more accurate than other models that seemed to follow a gridded route around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms and also create “Zambani patterns” both in and out of the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station regularly to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water prior to beginning another cleaning job.
The X2 Omni is just as simple to use and set up as other Ecovacs products. Simply snap the dock into place then plug it in and connect it to your WiFi network at home. It only takes a few minutes. You can then open the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to customize my floor plan within 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping and rearranging the layout of furniture on the wall and more. The X2 Omni performed impressively in my tests, achieving outstanding scores in the removal of pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as close to perfect results in edge and crevice cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
If you’re looking for a powerful combination of vacuuming and mopping, check out the ECOVACS Deebot T10 Omni. It is the most advanced model of the brand’s T-line and features a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system which uses dual-spinning brushes for superior cleaning over traditional oscillating scrubbers. It also comes with YIKO integrated, a first-of-its kind natural language processing technology that allows it to respond to a range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to map your house, create cleaning schedules, and alter settings.
The main drawback of the T10 Omni is that it can’t switch from mopping to vacuuming in one run. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach mop heads to and from the vacuum depending on your requirements. This is great for the majority of households, but not so for those who lead busy lives.
The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the particles we threw at it on our hardwood floors which is an impressive performance. It was a success on tiles and carpets and removed the majority of dirt.
This robot vacuum and mops comes with a large docking system that allows for automatic cleaning using cool water for the mop pads. It also features an auto-emptying 3L bag that’s easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also has a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.
Deebot T10 has a wash tray that is built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to rinse and dry the mop pads when it is using them. It does not have a removable tray so dust, dirt and other grime can slowly build up in the bottom.
3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid
This is the first model of mopping from Anker that is renowned for its robot vacuums. It is equipped with upgraded intelligence with multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the floor you’re cleaning. It’s a mid-range cleaner that’s attractive, even if its claim of being a one-stop shop for floor cleaning does not be realized.
The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular shape with sweeping wheels, and an elevated sensor area. However, flip it over, and you’ll find an electric floor brush and a single side sweeper that carries dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot’s ‘mouth’. It’s a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.
Its mapping system allows you to define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. It has a tendency of bumping into things like its charging station, and isn’t very good at climbing over carpets. It was effective in collecting pet hair off carpets. In our tests it picked up 89.5 percent of cat litter.
While it’s controllable via the app it’s also controllable via the app. X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base, which allow you to select a cleaning mode and turn the robot on/off. These buttons can be used to create zones that are not allowed to be visited and to access real-time maps. It’s a bit chatty and will inform you of what it’s going to do next (“start cleaning”) or even warn you that something is wrong (it isn’t able to charge, for instance).
4. ILIFE A4s
This high-tech model is able to pick up pet hair, kibble, and other messes with remarkable efficiency. It can also move effortlessly around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. The Wi-Fi enabled device is operated via the Neato App which schedules cleanings and maintenance requirements are tracked. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for homes that have a hardwood floors and carpet, but it requires some advanced planning to avoid getting stuck on toys, power cords or other obstacles that might be unexpected.
In our hardwood floor and kibble tests, this robot performed well and picked up everything from one grain of rice up to many pieces of dog food in just one go. It had some issues with rugs but, in general, this vacuum cleaner is ideal for large rooms that contain floors of different types and a mix of pets.
The A4s Pro is expensive however it’s a great buy for people who want to be able to leave the house without hands so that they can take on other tasks or perform household chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto-cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to handle tough dirt and spills, and includes batteries that power the ElectroWall that lets you place boundaries where the robot isn’t permitted to access.
This budget-friendly option from a popular upstart brand is the most affordable robot we’ve tested yet and offers an incredible value for price. The basic navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This renders it less efficient than the other models on this list. It’s still able get under furniture and in the corners. Its mopping mode performed very well in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris.
5. Shark iQ
Shark’s iQ isn’t as robust as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It cleans floors that are bare more thoroughly and does a good job on carpets with a low pile, and it makes use of smart-pathing navigational technology for greater maneuverability. It also allows you to transfer it to a particular room, and its sophisticated suite of automation features includes no-go zones as well as scheduling. It also lets you stop and restart cleaning sessions and is perfect for homes with pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent tangles with pet hair and other debris, and its bagless self-emptying docking station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt prior to needing to be cleaned. It also comes with a set of angled side brushes that dig deep into corners, and its multi-stage filter system is able to capture dust, dander and allergens for a cleaner air.
This robot vacuum feels solid and well-built, and it works with a smartphone app that enables you to change its vacuum settings and schedule cleaning times in advance. The app also allows you to view the iQ’s remaining battery life and also receive notifications via push for any issues it encounters during its cleaning process. You can make use of your voice to control it with an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device, and if you do not have either of these devices, you can mark zones with physical boundary strips.
The iQ can do a decent job of clearing bare floors and does a decent job on low-pile and shaggy carpet, but it doesn’t have the same degree of autonomy as our top selections. It’s also expensive and the recurring costs can add up over time.
