In the course of testing, it was able to handle dust and dry oats on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard floors. However, like cheaper models, it doesn’t utilize LIDAR to help you map your home.

1. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and incredible cleaning power, including the dirt compartment built into the base of charging. The robot also learns your habits of cleaning and suggest automated schedules for a truly hands-free experience.

The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning process at the touch of the button. This robot vacuum performs well on both bare floors and Best Robot Vacuum and Mop carpets with low pile. It can pick up pet hair and clean large objects up. It doesn’t lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It’s not the best time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot says it will improve with future models.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which focuses on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It’s the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It’s an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used, but we found it to be only marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with an advanced filtering system that blocks tiny dust particles and allergens from circulating in your home. It’s a nice claim however, we’re not convinced it’s enough to justify the price price.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors to keep track of the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map your interior. It then cleans your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundaries to ensure that the robot is aware of the areas that require attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a machine that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those on higher-end models. The mopping system is superior because its spinning pads scrub your floors much better than an ordinary pad that vibrates.

The only drawback is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, that’s not a major issue for those who want to own one of the best robots on the market. The dust tank of the robo-vac is larger than many of its competitors. Filling it up only takes two or three times, even when you have maximum dirt.

For the mopping device, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub off tough dirt from my floors. The two mopping modes that it has that are less aggressive than the more powerful ones, create minimal noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without distraction. If it comes into contact with an object, such as a wall or piece of furniture it gently bumps into it and then moves along.

What really sets the Q Revo apart is that it’s designed to function almost completely on its own, with no need for user intervention. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and can automatically transfer garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes and dries the clean water tank. The app will only inform you when something is not right, such as a low clean water tank or a cancelled vacuuming session due to a full bin.

You can also create and combine rooms to modify how the Q Revo will treat your home. This is a great feature for those who have multiple areas of your home with different flooring materials or there’s items that need to be cleaned out frequently, like toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my tests cleaning up debris from carpets and hardwood floors with the first pass. It can even vacuum up wet spills however I would recommend cleaning them off using a clean cloth before bringing the robot in.

On the top, there’s one button that basically acts as an on/off switch. This button will turn on the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and send it back to its base station. The circular menu at the center of the control panel allows users to select cleaning options as well as schedules and preferences. The left and Best Robot Vacuum and Mop right buttons beneath the screen will bring up the settings menu in which you can tweak the way that the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.

Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to map out your house. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum detect and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for families with pets or children.

The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4 percent of debris from our test on the hard floor and removing all but the most stubborn juice stain. Its mops also perform well and remove 98.4 percent of debris from our tile, carpet and wood tests. However, it wasn’t quite as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor or Quaker oats on carpet.
