A vacuum mop is a fantastic solution for sticky floors or spilled food. These two-in-one machines come with a brush roll that can be used to pick up dust and a spray cleaner to wash wet spills.
It’s a great convenience not having to mix the cleaner in advance or refill and empty the tanks. These models come with many attachments, including a crevice brush and a stiff-bristle tool that can be combined and upholstery tool.
1. Dyson V12 Detect Slim
The V12 Detect Slim is one of the best vacuum mop choices for pet hair. It’s able to effectively remove pet hair from a variety of floor types. It’s also among the most affordable vacuum mop models we’ve tested, and it’s far easier to use than a large upright bag.
It has smart tech, such as a built-in sensor for dirt and automatic power adjustments. It’s also designed to mop hard floors with the Laser Slim floorhead. It comes with an impressive lithium-ion battery. However, those who want to mop carpets should consider the more expensive Miele Cat and Dog Classic C1 which offers a more efficient carpet cleaning.
Dyson is known for its sleek powerful devices and the V12 Detect Slim doesn’t disappoint in terms of performance. It was able to capture fine debris (like flour) and larger particles, such as cookie crumbs and Oats, effortlessly during our tests that were conducted in a living space of 210 square feet and 73-square-foot kitchen with both carpeting and hard flooring.
This model does have some disadvantages, however. The bin has to be regularly emptied and the cord can get caught up on appliances or furniture as you move it around your home. It is also not very efficient in removing hair and pet dander off of stairs.
The V12 Detect Slim comes with a standard set of attachments including the Combination Tool, Crevice Tool and Wand Clip as well as the Laser Slim floorhead. It also comes with a Mini Stair Tool, which can be useful for getting into corners and other tight spaces. The model is packed in a completely plastic and polystyrene free packaging, and comes with a digital user manual that can be scanned or accessed to read.
2. LG PowerMop
The LG PowerMop may not be expensive, but this mop and vacuum combination is a great choice and strives to be the best of its class. This cordless stick vacuum is lightweight, and comes with an impressive motor and battery that can last for more than two hours. It is also equipped with a variety of attachments to clean or mop hard floors.
This unit is an innovative dustbin-emptying system that can automatically remove dust bags that are dirty, making it easier for you to keep your home tidy. The model also features a floor-illuminating light and a nifty display that offers real-time updates. It also comes with a variety of songs for alerts and notifications, as well as a an easy storage system for all CordZero Mop accessories.
The product comes in a large, sturdy box that contains everything you need to begin. Included is a stand-alone base station with an integral battery charger, a vacuum bag, a power mop attachment, a 2N1 combination tool as well as a crevice tool, and an universal power nozzle. The mop comes with a second battery that can be recharged and four microfiber pads for cleaning the floor.
The mop attachment is easy to use and is ideal for removing pet hair from hardwood floors or tile. Simply place a pad at the bottom of the mop, and then attach it with Velcro. It comes with three cleaning options: normal and turbo, as well as power. The app displays usage data which includes the time of each cleaning mode. It also notifies you when it is time to clean filters. The app lets you set a timer that will stop the vacuum. The vacuum has a convenient Telescoping wand that can be extended from 20″ collapsed to 29.5″.
3. Bissell CrossWave Cordless max
The Bissell CrossWave Cordless Max is a versatile floor cleaner that sweeps, vacuums and mops using water and cleaning solution. Its powerful motor suctions up hair from low-pile carpeting and hard floors and its brushroll and mop head gets rid of long and short pet hair.
Doss states that carpet compatibility is a major aspect to be considered when comparing vacuums for pet hair. While a vacuum mop may be used on carpets, most are not suitable for high-pile and shag carpeting. This is not the case with this model. This vacuum has two buttons on its handle to show whether it is used for carpet or a hard floor. It also has a trigger that can be squeezed when the unit is switched on to provide water and cleaning solutions to the brushroll.
This mop is fairly easy to use, as long as users are constant in pushing the trigger. It’s also extremely small and light even with two separate water tanks, a rotating brushroll, and a cleaning pad. In actual fact, it’s the lightest of all vacuum mops on this list; even with a full tank, it weighs less than 15 pounds. The tank and trigger can be easily removed by separating them which makes it easy to clean the mop head and brushes.
This mop has one major disadvantage: it is corded, which restricts its usability. Its cord is also quite short, which means that it is difficult to reach all corners of your home. It is a great option to those looking for a multi-functional, easy-to-use vacuum that can handle most of their daily tasks.
4. Tineco PURE ONE S11
Tineco PURE One S11 is a lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner that can also be used as a mop. It comes with two cleaning modes so that you can choose the one that best suits your requirements. It has a powerful motor that provides powerful suction and a long battery life. The smart dustbin is easy to empty and maintained. It also works with LG’s Power Mop nozzle for deep cleaning of floors that are not clean.
In an article that was recently reviewed, Reader’s Digest senior editor Dawn Yanek notes that the S11 is a great pet hair pickup, especially on bare floors. It clears away both short and long pet hair strands, as well as clumps. It also works exceptionally well on low-pile and high-pile carpet as it can create a tight seal against the carpet. The S11’s brushroll isn’t built with anti-tangle vanes, which means it can sometimes get tangled up in long hairs or fur clumps.
It has a huge dirt compartment, which can hold twice as much as the older model. It also has a clear plastic line that indicates the amount of dirt it holds. It weighs less than 15 pounds when empty which makes it lighter than other mop vacs we’ve tested.
Like the Dyson V12 Detect Slim, this model comes with an automatic power adjustment feature that utilizes a sensor to measure the amount of dust and debris in the air and alters the cleaning mode to suit. It also comes with a rechargeable battery that can provide up 70 minutes of running time on a single charge. Additionally, it comes with an integrated wall-mounted charging dock that can keep the device clean, organized, and ready for use. It is also compatible with Tineco’s app, which offers real-time performance monitoring, cleaning reports, maintenance reminders, and many more.
5. Wyze Cordless Vacuum
The Wyze Cordless Vacuum is one of the more affordable options in our reviews of Proscenic X1 Robot Vacuum Cleaner: Powerful High-Mop mops. It has impressive suction and a 40-minute battery runtime in ECO mode and washable filters.
Like all vacuum mop models like the Wyze trades some advanced features for its low-cost tag, but it’s still a top pick among budget vacuum mops overall. It is especially good at picking pet hair up from floors that are bare. It’s also a quiet model, meaning it won’t interfere with your conversations or TV watching while you use it.
The Wyze like many of the budget vacuum mops, isn’t very good at taking large debris off and could become stuck when trying to remove food chunks or grounds. This could reduce the effectiveness of cleaning and cause clogged filters. It also has a tendency to lose suction when cleaning hair, which can take up a lot of space and take its battery to the limit.
Another aspect to be aware of is that the majority of vacuum cleaners aren’t carpet-friendly, and only work on rugs with low piles or non-carpet flooring, according to Doss. If you have carpets, she recommends buying a handheld or corded vacuum cleaner that can handle carpets with ease. Also, there have been reports of the gasket ring separating, which leads to low to no suction, and could cause the cover of the dust cup to be difficult to open or close. This is an easy fix and it’s a good idea ensure that the ring isn’t missing before using it to ensure that it performs at its best.
