The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
For pets with shedding fur, a robot vacuum/mop combo is among the best floor cleaning solutions. It can mop, vacuum and clean its own mop pad with dual mop pads.
It also has the most suction power of any robot we have tested, with 8000Pa. It can also set up cleaning schedules and save maps of your home through its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is dry and wet. It comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR — similar to what you’d find in self-driving cars — and can scan up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping, faster response time, and better cleaning accuracy.
It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille, which makes it much easier to scrub hard-to-clean spots than conventional mopping. During my testing, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to clean its pad and get to work, and I noticed that it was much more accurate than previous models that were able to follow a grid-like route around rooms. It was adept at navigating my rooms by the corners and edges as well as make a “Zambani pattern” across the center of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin, and clean the mop using hot water, before starting another cleaning task.
The X2 Omni is just as simple to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. It takes just a few minutes to put the dock in its place, plug it into and connect to your home Wi-Fi network. Then, you can launch the app and begin with your first cleaning project. I was able to customize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping as well as rearranging the positioning of furniture on the wall and much more. The X2 Omni was astonished in my tests, achieving outstanding scores in debris removal and pet hair cleaning and near-perfect results in edge and crevice cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
If you’re looking for a strong combination of mopping and vacuuming then check out the EcoVACS Deebot Omni. It is the most advanced of the T-line from the company and comes with the brand new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system, which utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than conventional scrubbing. It comes with YIKO, a natural language processing technology that is the first of its kind. This allows it to respond to various voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, establish cleaning schedules, and alter settings.
The most significant issue with the T10 Omni is that it can’t switch from mopping to vacuuming in one go. The two modes require that you attach and remove mop heads according to the need and is suitable for most homes, but not a good fit for people who lead busy lives.
However, the Deebot Omni is a superb robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our pet hair tests. It was able to remove more than 96% of debris from our hardwood floors. This is an excellent performance. It also did a fantastic job on carpet and tile, removing over 99% of dirt and other debris.
This robot vacuum and mops comes with a large docking system that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag which is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large water tank that allows for more frequent rinses and dries between mopping runs.
The Deebot T10 comes with an integrated wash tray into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to wash and dry its mop pads while it is using them. It doesn’t have a removable tray so dust, dirt and other grime can slowly build up at the bottom.
3. RoboVac X8 hybrid
While Anker’s Eufy is well-known in the field of robot vacuums This model is the first foray into the world of mopping. It is equipped with enhanced intelligence, multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts to the type of surface you’re cleaning. It’s a tempting mid-range robot vacuum cleaner, even if it doesn’t meet its promise to be an all-in-one solution for floor cleaning.
The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular shape with sweeper wheels and a raised sensor area. On the opposite side you’ll find a motorized floorbrush as well as a single side brush that moves dust from the edges into the main artery of its’ mouth.’ It’s a bit smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under chairs and sofas.
Its mapping system is reasonably sophisticated, allowing you to set no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. However, it has a tendency to bump into things (including its charging dock) and isn’t always adept in negotiating rug. It did a great job of removing pet hair from floors that were bare however, and during our tests, it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of cat litter, which is higher than all but the strongest robots we’ve examined.
The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has a set of physical buttons on its base. These buttons let you select the cleaning mode, or turn off the robot. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones as well as see maps in real-time. It’s also a little chatty and will let you know what it’s planning to do next (start cleaning) or notify you if something isn’t working.
4. ILIFE A4s
This high-tech vacuum model can remove pet hair, kibble and other messes with remarkable efficiency. It also moves effortlessly around furniture legs. It also comes with a remarkable feature set that includes two cleaning modes as well as a self-emptying dock and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. The Wi-Fi enabled device is operated via the Neato App where cleaning schedules are set and maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is a great option for homes with large spaces that have a mixture of carpet and hard floors. However, it will need some planning ahead to avoid getting caught by power cables, toys, or other unintentional obstructions.
This robot did well during our tests on hardwood floors and food particles. It picked up everything, from one rice grain to several dog food pieces, with only one swipe. It had some trouble transitioning to rugs, but in general this vacuum mop pet hair cleaner is ideal for rooms that have different flooring types and a mix of pets.
It’s not cheap but if you’re able to manage the price, this is a great option for those who want to be able to leave their homes hands-free to go about other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto cleaning mode that boosts suction power to tackle tough dirt and spills, and it comes with an electric ElectroWall which allows you to define boundaries where the robot isn’t allowed to enter.
This budget-friendly model from a well-known upstart brand is the most affordable robot we’ve tested to date and offers an exceptional value for the money. Its basic navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm, and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This is why it’s less effective than other models in this list. However, it’s still able to reach under furniture and in corners and its mopping mode was very effective in our testing it picked up pet hair and other debris easily.
5. Shark IQ Robot Vacuum: Self-Cleaning Advanced Navigation iQ
Shark’s iQ may not be as durable however, it’s better at cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less efficiently and does a decent job on carpets with a low pile, and it uses smart-pathing navigational technology for better maneuverability. It can be sent to a specific location, and includes a variety of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It also allows you to pause and resume cleaning sessions which is ideal for homes that have pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll prevents the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying bagless dock station can store up to 30 days of dirt prior to needing to be cleaned. It also has an assortment of angled side brushes that penetrate into corners and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander, and allergens to ensure a healthier air.
This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It works with an app for smartphones that lets you change the vacuum’s settings and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app lets you view the remaining battery life and also receive notifications via push for any issues it encounters during a cleaning process. You can control it using your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don’t own either of these devices, you can mark areas with physical boundary lines.
The iQ is good for cleaning floors that aren’t clean, and it does a decent job on carpets with low pile and shaggy edges. However it’s not able to provide the same level autonomy as our top selections. It is also expensive and its monthly costs can increase.
