A double buggy is ideal when you are expecting twins, or if you have two children of different age groups. The best ones are easy to maneuver and handle rough surfaces and kerbs.
They also have features like large sun canopy with hoods that can be seen through and seats that can be adjusted.
1. Baby Jogger City Tour Double
The City Tour 2 Double stroller is the smallest in the Baby Jogger range. It’s designed for travel, and fits through doors that are standard with its slim and compact design. It’s also among the lightest double buggies you can find weighing only 14lb when folded. It’s perfect for traveling with a toddler and a newborn since you won’t exceed airline luggage allowances. It also folds to the size of a bag for travel so you can tuck it away in the back of your car when not when you’re not using it.
It’s simple to fold the Z-shape using one hand. Once you’re used to it, it is compact and can be folded in a matter of seconds. However our tester found the auto lock to be a bit confusing. Also, since the handlebar isn’t locked into position when you press it, it hit her legs when she used it. She also believed that the handlebar was on the shorter side. This is especially true when a large bag for changing hangs from it.
This double stroller is not as light as other buggies. It has a full variety of features, and is one the most versatile thule double stroller strollers on the market. It’s compatible with two carry cots (available separately), features multiple recline positions as well as an UV 50+ canopy. You can even add a bassinet to one or both seats, and turn it into a travel system.
The four composite wheels made of rubber are ideal for pavements as well as urban terrain however they’re not made for off-roading. They struggled with long grass and gravel, and there isn’t much space between the wheel and the bracket which means that mud could get stuck easily. Our tester loved this vehicle, and it was able to climb some pretty muddy hills.

The seats are also adjustable and can be placed according to the needs of siblings. iCandy has included the first-ever “cinema seating” design that allows parents to maintain eye contact between both children. They can also be adjusted to face either the parent or the world facing.
It’s a heavier tandem buggy however it’s extremely easy to use and steer, especially on smooth roads. It is stable in double and single mode, and also on sloping ground. It’s not as simple to drive on public transport, however, as it requires more than one hand on the handlebar. It is also bulky and won’t fit in a standard car boot with the seat on, however this can be overcome with careful planning. iCandy have included an infant footmuff, a changing bag and car seat adapters included in the price, making this an excellent value for new parents.

If you’re expecting twins, this is definitely the stroller for you. It’s the first travel system made by Cybex and comes with adaptors that make it simple to convert one pushchair to a double. The upper adaptors are easily adjustable to your height, and the lower adaptors can be twisted and turned over to allow you to change from one configuration to another. The Gazelle’s seat can recline into flat position. It also has an enormous UV 50+ sun shade that is vital for your children.

5. Nipper double stroller with bassinet V5
The Nipper Double V5 from Out ‘n’ About is a refreshed version of the award-winning all-terrain buggy. It was designed for twins or other siblings and features independent reclining chairs, compatibility with carrycots and a lightweight framework to allow for easy maneuverability on bumpy terrain.
The adjustable handle’s height and rear wheel suspension ensure a comfortable ride for kids up to 22kg. The sturdy pneumatic tyres that are easy to clean, provide a smooth ride when jogging. The 360-degree swivel wheel can be locked in place to make it easier to manoeuvre around town. The one-pedal, easy lock brake is also easy to use.
Our testers discovered that the Nipper Double is incredibly easy to navigate, even on rough terrain or turning into the middle of a busy road. The possibility that the seats could be reclined independently was hugely appreciated.
The hoods were also simple to adjust for wind or sun protection. They didn’t provide as much coverage as the Baby Jogger City Mini Hoods. It might be worth packing an extra rain cover in case.
Overall, our test participants loved the way that the Nipper Double made it possible for them to take their twin girls Sydney and Lyla to all sorts of adventures, from seeing wildlife in the woods to running to the park to play with their friends. They were also amazed by how cosy and spacious the two seats are, with plenty of space for toddlers growing to play in. Our testers did note, however, that the lack of a parent-facing seating and the inability of using car seats in this buggy was a drawback, and they would like to have seen more storage space for shopping and other gear.
