The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is an excellent option for those looking for a mid-range robot vacuum and mop. It offers a great mopping experience, but doesn’t have the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.

In the course of testing, it was able to take on dust and dry oats on carpets with medium piles and pet hair on hard floors. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn’t use LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It has impressive cleaning power and numerous features such as a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot promises it will get better in the future with new models.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It’s the first Roomba that adopts a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It’s a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard, but we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also features an advanced filtration system which blocks microscopic particles and allergens recirculating within your home. It’s a nice claim however, we’re not convinced it’s enough to justify the high price price.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to store the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map the interior. The robo-vac’s dust tank larger than many of its competitors and takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the maximum dirt level.

In terms of the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very little noise, so you can work or watch television without getting distracted. If it comes into contact with the wall or a piece of furniture it gently bumps into it and then moves along.
