The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option for those looking for a mid-range robot vacuum and mop. It offers a great mopping experience, but doesn’t have the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.
In the course of testing, it was able to take on dust and dry oats on carpets with medium piles and pet hair on hard floors. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn’t use LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It has impressive cleaning power and numerous features such as a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest schedules that are automatic to provide a hands-free and effortless experience.
The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning functions with the click of a button. You can choose an overall clean that emphasizes the removal of large debris such as cereal and rice or two detailed maps of your space to ensure that your entire home has a clean and tidy appearance.
This vacuum works well both on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It can remove pet hair and sucks large objects up. It doesn’t lose its suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot promises it will get better in the future with new models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It’s the first Roomba that adopts a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It’s a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard, but we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also features an advanced filtration system which blocks microscopic particles and allergens recirculating within your home. It’s a nice claim however, we’re not convinced it’s enough to justify the high price price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to store the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map the interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles, like staircases and other barriers, and to clean up your entire house efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and schedule cleaning times, as well as establish virtual boundary markers, so it is aware of areas that require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that combine vacuuming and mopping the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are just as effective as those found on higher-end models. Its mopping system is even better – its spinning pads scrub your floors much more efficiently than the vibrating pads.
The only drawback is the absence of a second brush to allow for more thorough cleaning. But that’s not a problem for those who want to own one of the top robots available. The robo-vac’s dust tank larger than many of its competitors and takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the maximum dirt level.
In terms of the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very little noise, so you can work or watch television without getting distracted. If it comes into contact with the wall or a piece of furniture it gently bumps into it and then moves along.
What really makes the Q Revo apart is that it’s designed to operate almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for user intervention. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that automatically transfers physical trash into the hidden bin and also cleans and drys mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app will only alert you if something is wrong like low water levels or a cancelled vacuuming session due to an empty bin.
You can also create and combine rooms to modify how the Q Revo treats your abode. This is a great feature if you have multiple rooms in your home that have different flooring materials or there’s some clutter that needs to be cleared out frequently, like clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac was also one of the top performers in my test cleaning up debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors with the first go. It is able to vacuum up wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it to.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you’d expect from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It has a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It is similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with an auto-cleaning base station that automatically empty and cleans the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them clean and ready for use again. The most significant improvement to the ECOVACS The X1 Deebot is the modern, sleeker design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best self-emptying vacuum known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. Although it’s still quite large–it’s more than two feet high and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds–the entire robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also comes with a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that works even when you’re not at home. It also comes with a smart routing function that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a set path.
The X2 Omni has the best mop and vacuum robot combo mopping performance of any robot we’ve tested thanks to its mop pads that rotate to remove tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming capabilities are excellent as well and it increases suction when it senses carpet to ensure it does the job well. It is equipped with a large rechargeable battery that lasts up to a week. The mopping mode of the robot is also powerful.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium robot vacuum and mop that comes with a range of features that you don’t often see on robots in this price. It can build precise floor maps, recognize different flooring types and is one of the few that can automatically wash and dry its mop pads. While these features are useful but they also make the L10s Ultra more in the category of luxury and could mean it’s somewhat more expensive than the average homeowner require.
Created to look like a modern floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device that has an elegant white finish that’s highlighted by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine is adorned with an enormous bumper that shields the vacuum cleaner and furniture when you are moving around your home. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane, which help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum there is a single button that is used as an on/off switch. This button will turn on the vacuum. If you click it again, it will shut it off and send it to its base station. The circular menu located in the middle of the control panel lets users to select cleaning options or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will bring up the app’s settings menu where you can alter how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation techniques to help you map out your home. This allows the robot to clean and mop efficiently, without getting stuck. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum to recognize and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for families with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability that clears 98.4% of debris from our hard-floor test and taking out all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops also perform well in removing 98.4% debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. However, it wasn’t quite as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor or Quaker oats on carpet.
